Hopeful and Strong - Pillow
In October, my hometown (Lewiston, Maine) experienced the heartbreak of a mass shooting that took 18 innocent lives and injured more. My heart breaks for everyone affected by this. I worked on this painting as a way to process all of my emotions and give back to the community. Proceeds of the sale of this print will be donated to the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund
Lewiston is a place where many have come to find hope and a new start. I am the great-granddaughter of Canadian immigrants who came down to work in the mills and have a better life. Over the years, many others have come to Lewiston, hopeful for a new beginning of their own. I have lived here most of my life and have experienced the true strength of our community. It is who we are, we are hopeful and strong.
